Punat to Krk Loop
The Island of Krk features a short, but picturesque and leisurely one-day cycling tour between Punat and the town of Krk over the Prniba Peninsula. The trail is suitable for both trekking as wells as mountain bicycles.
The road leads from Punat along Puntarska vala Beach towards the towns of Krk and Baška. At the very first intersection, head for the gravel road and cycle up to the village of Kornić. From there, picturesque dirt roads on somewhat more challenging surfaces in places wind through the plentiful olive groves all the way to the northern edge of the town of Krk.
A well-maintained gravel road loop runs over the Prniba Peninsula, the end of which all but reaches over the narrow into Puntarska vala Beach and Punat. But no such luck: it’s time to cycle back to the outskirts of the town of Krk for a relaxing final section on a paved road back to the starting point in Punat.
